Recently, for the large civil aircraft, reduced thrust takeoff has been widely used. However, for small official aircraft such as citation CJ1, there is no way to reduce thrust takeoff in the AFM that was created by Cessna. Therefore, this project attemps to offer a method to reduce thrust takeoff for citation CJ1.Firstly, this thesis introduces the citation CJ1 aircraft take-off process and takeoff performance briefly, and analyzes the factors which can impact the take-off performance Secondly, it proves the necessity of reduced thrust take-off by analyzing how it influences the hot section working life of engine, EGTM, the noise of takeoff and emissions. Then the thesis studies the FJ44-1A engine working process, the control principle and the characteristic, in order to prove the feasibility of the aircraft with reduced thrust take off.By the analysis and research on CJ1 aircraft performance manual, it is found that aircraft take-off performance relates to the outside air temperature, airport elevation, angle of flap, the length of the runway and climb gradient. According to the large aircraft commonly used flexible take-off methods, the thesis designs calculation program of reduced thrust takeoff for citation CJlsimilar to the large ones. However, due to the discrete point data of AFM, in order to meet the requirements of calculation we use the BP neural network in MATLAB software. By inputting OAT, the airport elevation, angle of flap, and actual load into the calculation program we can obtain the maximum reduced thrust value when it is determind that the aircraft can use the reduced thrust takeoff. Finally, this method has obtained the success in the flight simulator of Mechtronix. It is proved that the method is feasible and safe.
