Manufacturing process of hull plates directly relates to the quality of the entire vessel, therefore, study the process of manufacturing the outer hull plates has attracted the majority of the world’s major research institutions and academic research.. Now the manufacturing of ship hull always uses the line heating manner, and the product detection is the most effective method to make sure the quality of the ship hull plates. This step is also the key point to make the ship hull plates meet the requirements of the factory standard. However, this important testing step is lack of a unified, standardization and quantitative method and specification.The current mainstream method of ship hull plate forming by forming testing and evaluation focused on the following two methods:use of analog lines forming the comments and evaluation which based on 3D point cloud forming. In the line for forming simulation evaluation methods, the work first uses the existing parameters affecting the design and simulation of hull curved two-dimensional curves, and then use the two-dimensional manner which is on the forming line to evaluate and judge the condition of the plates. The evaluation method which is based on forming a three-dimensional point cloud is mainly using 3D scanners for ship hull plate three-dimensional scanning to obtain three-dimensional point cloud data, and then computing and simulation for evaluating the outer hull plate forming data situation, and thus on the hull forming an outer panel to evaluate the situation.The main work of this paper focuses on the following aspects:we first introduce the ship hull plate forming detection research status and research significance in this paper. And then, describe the ship hull plate forming technology, involving several core concepts. After that, we explain the forming detection model for building the detailed process and specific calculation, evaluation procedures which is based on ship hull plate frame line. We also do an experiment to detect the model, and we analyze the experimental results. Finally, we give the conclusion of the experiment and the model, and also put forward the follow-up experiment improvement opinions and expectations.To solve the problem of lacking for quantitative evaluation method in line heating detection. We propose the ship hull plate frame line forming detection model which compares each of the detection board and the target board rib lines of Gaussian curvature, and calculates the curved plate forming the to finish the line heating forming detection and evaluation. Experimental results show that this model can efficiently finish the line heating forming detection and evaluation job, and it can also help controlling the forming error.
