As the fast development of china’s economic, there is a higher requirement of energy and sustainable environment. New energy faces a big challenge in the study and application of electric power system. Solar energy is the important energy resource of all the fossil and biology; it’s the basic energy for any other renewable energy. As the development of science and technology, the develop and study of Solar thermal power generation system is received more and more attention by domestic and foreign researchers. It has become a new trend to develop and use the solar energy.The paper put forward a new design, which combined the visual motion trajectory tracking (sun angle tracking) with photoelectric sensor tracking, and designed the hardware and software of solar automatic tracking device. The hardware include:light intensity detection circuit module, weather detection circuit module, light detection circuit module, the MCU control circuit module, external clock circuit module, display circuit module, auxiliary circuit module; the software include:photoelectric detection and tracking module, sun angle tracking module, clock module. This new system can switch tracking mode automatically and receive the solar energy depend on the weather and day and night, which improves the efficiency of the system to receive solar energy. Compared with traditional heat collection system, the efficiency of new system increased by 26.34%, which ensure the thermal power generation works steadily.This article designed a sun position calculator which can calculate the sun position and show the result, after run, it can rapidly calculate the solar zenith angle and solar azimuth at present after enter the local time and the angle of the red, and do the comparative analysis the result with daily shuttle calendar data, the gap of sun position angle in both cases is not so much, which proves the solar position calculator is available. Finally, the modeling and simulation for photoelectric detection and tracking module and angle tracking is carried out by MATLAB software, which verified the feasibility of the system and guaranteed the stability of the system. In the system, the device for automatically tracking sun was designed to receive the solar to achieve the better heat collection affection.
