Nowadays, the fuel overconsumption and environment pollution is gaining severity by the popularization of vehicles. The government and manufacturers are devoted to making cars that not noly have excellent drivability performance but also are eco-friendly. For this purpose, large number of new technologies come to arise such as variable valve lift, exhaust gas recycle, turbocharger and gasoline direct injection. Expecially, the turbocharger can both improve vehicles power performance and reduce fuel consumption rate for engine. The appearance of new technologies leads to the changes of both the vehicle system from mechanic structure to mechatronics and the engine control member from single function to comprehended function moduels. Under the circumstances, the torque oriented engine control strategy becomes to an inevitable tendency. For one thing, it can unify the power needs from the whole car to engine torque command which improve both flexibility and expandability of control strategy; for anothe, it can improve vehicle drivability as well as reduce wastegas emission by control parameters optimizing. This paper’takes a domestic 4 cylinders turbocharged engine as research object, makes a study, on both mathematical modeling methods and the torque oriented control strategies.Firstly, take a domestic engine as prototype, build the simulation model of electronic throttle including the driving motor and throttle valve by its operation principles. Build its simulation model by nalysis of the procedure of mixture combustion, air intaking and exhausting. A combined high accuracy simulation platform for engine controls system testing is established through the data interation between GT-power and Simulink.Secondly, this paper builds the math model of engne fuel injection and sparking system. Engine air intaking strategy is designed on the ground of torque command. An integrated engine air intaking control system with 3 closed loop control segments, the cylinder intake air mass control, the throttle angle and the boost pressure closed loop control, is designed after the establishment of dynamiccal models for the throttle air flow, the cylinder air inflation and the turbocharger electronica control method on energy conversion theory.Lastly, a detailed research of engine closed loop controller has been make and then the intelligent integrator PID controller and fuzzy intelligent integrator controller are designed basing on conventional PID control strategy. This paper establishs while optimizing the throttle turbocharger combination control strategy. A GT-power Simulink combined simulation as well as vehicle drum test are made to verify control strategy performance which indicate that the torque oriented control strategy can satisfy the torque.
