Automobile steering system is the control me chanism,which is used to change or keep the car moving direction. Its role is to make the car to change direction timely depends on driver’s manipulation in the process of driving.The system receive the impact from road or drive off road, the steering system can cooperate with driving systems common to keep car driving stability. Electric power steering(EPS) is a new steering technology, it is different with the traditional technology because of without the traditional hydraulic equipment. By the ECU to control the motor for achieve steering movements, which greatly increase the fuel economy. Electric power steering technology can operate the size of steering control by the operator’s intentions. Manipulator in the low speed driving do not need to provide a large operating force.The driver has a relatively good steering stability when he drives in high speed,.Based on control strategy as the main research contents, the basic structure and principle of electric power steering system are introduced.Then the dynamic model of electric power steering system and the dynamical characteristics are analyzed.In addition to,car dynamics model of the electric power steering system are put forward.and the power characteristic curve of electric power steering system is determined, which laid a solid foundation for the subsequent control strategy research.In the control strategy of electric power steering system, the control model and control algorithm of two layer control strategy are studied in this paper. The role of the upper control strategy is to make clear the operation mode of the currently used electronic control unit, and determine control object. The lower control strategy is to choose some mathematical algorithm for way and target tracking, it belongs to the motor control.Finally, the system structure, installation requirements and basic functions of TAT- 6 / TL of EPS test bench are analyzed in this article.And the experimental study on the simulation platform is happened. In dynamical characteristics experime nts, simulation for four kinds of driving speed, the output current is inversely proportional with the speed.In the return-to-center characteristics experiments, motor output current decreases with the decrease of input steering torque, return-to-center control to ensure that the steering wheel return to the initial position.In the motor with characteristic experiments, the real output of motor current curve over the whole system run more smoothly, which embody the superior performance of entire steering system.
