TBM is widely used in underground engineering and tunnel construction, and it has an important role in the process of city development and economic construction. As the TBM cutter used for cutting rock, the disc cutter works in very poor environment and is the parts with maximum failure probability. The quality and life of TBM disc cutter seriously affect the whole machine’s work efficiency and cost. Heat treatment is one of the most important technique which may change the performance and life of the cutter, but the research about heat treatment numerical simulation of the disc cutter is relatively few. Therefore, the simulation analysis for the disc cutter’s heat treatment process and studying for effect of technological parameters on the disc cutter has important significance. At present, the manufacture technology of foreign cutter blade is relatively mature, which has good wear resistance and long life and so on. Accordingly, the research on the performance difference between foreign cutter blade and domestic cutter blade is of great significance to improve the manufacturing technology and the quality of domestic cutter blade and to reduce the dependence on the foreign cutter blade.In this paper, H13 is commonly used for TBM cutter material, which is chosen as the heat treatment simulation material. The mathematical model of temperature and microstructure transformation in the heat treatment is established. According to the inverse heat transfer theory, the surface heat transfer coefficient between H13 and 75 SN base oil was calculated, which is data preparation for the subsequent heat treatment simulation. Then, with the DEFORM software, the treat treatment process of H13 cutter blade is analyzed and the credibility of simulation model is verified. After that, author has analyzed that the influence on phase field and stress field caused by different quenching and tempering temperature, and obtain a set of suitable quenching temperature 1030℃and tempering temperature 550℃. In addition, the chemical composition, mechanical properties, microstructure and surface residual stress of two kinds of foreign cutter blade and two kinds of domestic cutter blade are studied in this paper.The results show that C content and Cr content of the domestic cutter blade is higher than that of foreign cutter blade, but Mo content is just the opposite; the toughness of domestic cutter blade is less than that of foreign cutter blade; the difference of surface hardness between domestic and foreign cutter blade is small, but the core hardness of domestic cutter blade is higher than that of foreign cutter blade; the surface residual compressive stress of domestic cutter blade is higher 100 MPa than that of foreign cutter blade. According to the performance difference between domestic and foreign cutter blade, author puts forward relevant suggestions for manufacturing technology of domestic cutter blade.
