As trunk roads to alleviate pressure on city traffic,urban expressways in a certain extent satisfied the travel and logistics needs for large and medium cities and improved the efficiency of urban transportation. With the development the urban expressways,the accessibility of urban road network can be gained.It can be said that as the main skeleton of city transport,urban expressways played an important role in guarantee efficient and smoothly running of urban transport. However,urban expressway traffic accidents also constantly rising with the higher level of motorization and losses caused by traffic accidents are more serious. Therefore,it is essential to analyze and discuss the formation of expressway accidents and accident black-spots.This paper analyzes the composition of freeway traffic system, elaborates the factors that build up the freeway system, defines the formation of traffic accidents through accidents generation model, compares domestic and foreign study on distribution of accidents causes.Then analyzes the factors of urban expressway accident black-spots on aspects such as human factors,road factors,traffic safety and ancillary facilities,road traffic environment and traffic safety management and clear the impact on the freeway accident black-spots.Then we analyze the specific influence form of these factors with statistics and graphs,factor weights with analytic hierarchy analysis and system causes analysis method,as result we get the proportion of each factor in formation of accident black-spots.In case study we identify accident black-spots on an expressway in ANHUI province by using the improved density-based clustering algorithm then prove the effectiveness of the improved algorithm by comparing cumulative frequency.Last we propose reasonable recommendations according to the analysis on factors of accident black-spots combined with the actual situation of China’s rapid development of the expressway.
