With the increasing improvement of the consumers on low noise, long-lived,reduce maintenance requirements of Engine Front End Accessory Drive(EFEAD in short) system, adopting reasonable design method could guarantee the stability and reliability of EFEAD system. It is very meaningful to develop a package of computer aided design(CAD in short) software with independent intellectual property rights for designer. It will help designer to complete analysis and optimization of the EFEAD system layout design and transmission characteristics, to reduce the strength of design work, and to improve work efficiency.Concerning the design method and CAD software design of the EFEAD system,this paper had carried out the following works. A set of relatively correct and reasonable mathematical model of EFEAD system static design was studied. Referred to the related data at home and abroad, analyzed test data from the enterprise. According to the related national standard and the general requirements of EFEAD system in the industry,applying system dynamics, tribology and belt drive theory to establish a set of relatively correct and reasonable mathematical model of EFEAD system static design. It will be used for FAED system CAD software development.The applicable CAD software for EFEAD system was developed. Software development work followed the development principles and requirements of software engineering. The overall design is completed after a sufficient demand analysis. The programming and debugging are finished which using the object-oriented development method and selecting the Visual Studio.Net integrated software development environment. The software has delivered users now.The research work provided a reference for the further study on static design method for different EFEAD system. The CAD software interface for EFEAD system is friendly. Its functions met the EFEAD system designer’s requirements. It solved the problem that calculation and drawing by hand in the EFEAD system design work, and obviously improved design work efficiency.
