Research On The Barrier Free Design Of The Elderly Residential Kitchen

Human aging is the inevitable law of physiology, population aging has become a major social problems that country must face and solve, and our aging process development rapidly,and has become a bullish in the aging population country in the world.Current and in the future for a long time, our pension model will still be dominated by the family, supplemented by the state of social pension development. Home care of the elderly because of ample time, everyday in meal preparation, dining, spend a lot of energy and time. "Eat" has become the inevitable behavior of the elderly that must be carried out to sustain the life,and normal daily life is the most important guarantee: it is not only conducive to promote the diversification of the behavior of the elderly, but also to the exercise of memory; and through shopping, meal preparation, dining and a series of related activities, it can also to promote the elderly in foreign exchange, family harmony, enjoy the fun of life and all aspects of the positive development. Therefore through the residential kitchen barrier free design can ensure the safety and independence of the elderly to carry out operational activities, improve the self-care ability of themselves. The elderly barrier free kitchen design provides an essential foundation to achieve the needs of the elderly and ensure the quality of life of the elderly,it is also an important part of Chinese old people’s housing design that without obstacle and humanization.In this paper, take the self-care elderly and the disable elderly(pole elderly and wheelchair elderly) as the research object, in order to promote the elderly to take care of life as the goal, to explore the residential kitchen environment that suitable for the elderly with no obstacles to the operation.Hope to increase the rich of the related research content of elderly barrier free kitchen design,providing a reference for the designers of the barrier free kitchen and make a contribution to the development of the barrier free kitchen for the elderly.On the basis of studying the relevant research experience of the developed countries, this paper expounds the problems existing in the kitchen of the elderly in our country.The paper takes the needs and wishes of the elderly as the breakthrough point, takes the elderly body size and characteristics as the basis, through a large number of practical investigation,household interviews and other first-hand information in research,summed up the design principles of the elderly accessibility kitchen,and mainly from the kitchen functional design, visual design,auxiliary design and so on several aspects to carry on the thorough and careful research,puts forward the requirements of the elderly barrier free kitchen design, lays a good foundation of constructing a security, practical, convenient, accessible kitchen space for the elderly.
