In the early development of marine equipment, the display and control terminals for marine radar, GPS(Global Positioning System), AIS(Automatic Identification System), video surveillance and other ship borne equipment were the pointer type instruments or the display and control console with single function. With the continuous development of avionics system, the number of ship borne equipments and the complexity increased, we need to adopt the multi-function display and control terminal that can provide centralized control of the data and information from common ship borne devices. Compared with the mainstream control terminal at home and abroad, the multi-function display and control terminal developed in this thesis has the characteristics of diverse functions, rich interface, simple operation and moderate price.Combined with the current development situation of marine multi-function display and control terminal at home and abroad, according to the functional requirements of highly integrated display, various interfaces and small size, this thesis completes the overall system design of the multi-function display and control terminal firstly, including the design of overall architecture and technical indexes.Secondly, this thesis completes the hardware and software design of the multi-function display and control terminal based on the embedded Linux platform. Among them, the circuit design and engineering implementation of the multi-function display and control terminal mainly based on a dual core embedded microprocessor DM3730. Functional modules also include the video acquisition module based on TVP5158, power supply module, human-computer interaction module, display module and interface module which contains Ethernet port, CAN(Controller Area Network) bus port based on MCP2510 and so on. As to the software design of the multi-function display and control terminal, this thesis complete the embedded software program for main display, control and interface functions, including drivers(CAN bus driver, video acquisition driver), the middleware software and display and control interface program.This thesis then test the function of the multi-function display and control terminal, the test includes the loading of the display and control interface, the control and display of the radar-scanning unit, can bus data transmission and video acquisition. The test results show that the terminal works properly, basically meet the needs of the application.Finally, the cost analysis of the multi function display and control terminal system shows that the cost control is good and the price is much lower than that of foreign products.The multi-function display and control terminal that this thesis realized has meet the basic needs of marine radar, it provides a good development platform for further imoproving to support more ship peripherals and develop more application functions.
