With the development and innovation of science and technology, virtual scene technology has been further applied in the field of military, scientific research, entertainment etc, which has entered every corner of human life. In this paper, full detail of the research and design process of the virtual scene used for vehicle driving simulator system, which has been explained clearly though the key technology and structure, Design and Implementation, system operation control and simulation etc.As a core component of automobile driving simulator platform,3D virtual scene using computer technology, graphics method, dynamics theory and other technologies to generate a virtual world. In the vehicle driving simulator system, the operator can drive a car and enjoy the pleasure of driving though the visual, auditory and tactile sensory. In addition, the automobile driving simulation of virtual scene will help people to avoid all kinds of accidents which are easy to appear in the actual driving process, what’s more, it also has safe, economical, practical characteristics and reduces energy consumption and pollution.Through using OpenGL graphics library, VC++ 6.0 and 3D Max, the 3D visual simulation models of terrain and vehicles have been created, The light, atomization and texture mapping fusion effect the development of the automobile driving virtual scene system. Firstly, the system takes irregular triangular mesh method by TIN, and the introduction of the real DEM data has been used to generate terrain, in order to achieve the car’s multi degree of freedom movement. Using modeling software to generate a variety of models, adding the terrain detection and collision detection, choosing such as texture mapping and model processing optimization means to enhance the sense of reality and the user’s sense of immersion. Design of vehicle driving attitude change in real time, simple steering, acceleration and deceleration, display hidden, drawing mode switching and other human computer interaction. The system also can output pitch angle, roll angle, position coordinates and azimuth data in real time, which can Strengthen the practicability and maneuverability. Finally, The system has been joined the car GPS navigation and location search function of three geographic information system elements, rich feature set.The design and research of this paper has certain reference and practical significance for the further popularization and the economy of virtual scene.
