In order to improve the flexibility of substation simulation system, the technology about simulation scene generating is researched in the thesis, and an auto-generating system of three-dimensional (3D) substation simulation scene is designed based on the conversion of the two-dimensional (2D) substation scene graph. The conversion of the substation scene graph from 2D to 3D is primarily realized, it means a mapping from 2D substation scene graph to 3D substation scene graph. By means of 2D graphic programming, the 2D entities are designed, and the designing of 2D scene graph, drawing, modifying and saving are realized. By usage of 3ds Max, the architecture models and equipments models of the substation simulation scene are modeled. By means of OSG, the designing of 3D substation scene graph, the conversion of substation scene graph from 2D to 3D, the generating and optimization of the 3D substation simulation scene are realized. The collision detection based on substation security constraint is realized, and it has been used in scene roaming. By usage of particle system, the simulation of various weathers is realized in the simulation scene. The submodel of the equipment models is designed, and has been used in the scene graph to optimizing the 3D substation simulation scene. The system has the advantage of interactive and operating. By using the system, the user can draw the 2D substation scene graph easily under the designing specification of 110kV substation, and rapidly convert it to 3D substation simulation scene. The 3D substation simulation scene generated by the system has good effects and practicability, and it is suitable for the substation simulation training.
