The shock wave of explosion is an important part of the characterization of damage effect for weapons and ammunition. The parameter test for shock wave has importantly practical significance to the damage performance design of all kinds of weapons. At present, the storage test technology is used to obtain the parameters of shock wave, and the test systems were worked independently. The physical dispersion makes it difficult to achieve synchronization between the systems. Therefore, it is necessary to study the synchronization technology in distributed test for shock wave. The main method used was disconnection trigger method in the synchronous test of shock wave. The method exists the drawback of time-consuming for wiring in the field, and the line was not easy to protect. It is easy to take the electromagnetic interference coupling into test system, and cause false triggering for system.Aiming at the current test situation of shock wave, a synchronization scheme was proposed to apply the GPS technology to the testing system of shock wave, and the feasibility of the scheme was analyzed. The design of the synchronization testing system for shock wave was completed. The principle design, simulation and test verification of synchronization unit were emphatically carried out. The synchronization unit of system was designed by the short-term high stability oscillator pulse and long-term stability of GPS second pulse. The synchronization accuracy between test systems was improved to 10μs, and meet the synchronization requirements of testing system for shock wave. In this paper, the GPS second pulse and serial time data were synchronously used to measure and calibrate the critical time for the shock wave test. The testing accuracy and reliability of synchronization unit were improved effectively. The synchronization unit could provide accurate synchronization information for the systems which were distributed in the field. The system had the function of simultaneous measurement of the speed and pressure, which can be worked independently in the harsh environments.The synchronous testing system for shock wave has been tested for many times under the laboratory and range environment. The synchronization of time and reliability of the data capture were verified in the experimental results. The system has high accuracy of synchronization and easy to carry. The system can meet the design requirements and indicators of testing for shock wave, which had good practicability and popularization value.
