Cable-stayed structure is a very typical architecture in hybridized structure for the bridge in the early stage. Prestressed cable-stayed mesh structure is a novel prestressed long-span spatial structure system combining the technology of the cable-stayed bridge and prestressed technology. It has the favorable mechanical performance and novel architectural style which are able to adapt the of the requirement of modern architectural development and has a broad application prospect. Because of its excellent force ability,original modus and flexible spatial arrangement, prestressed cable-stayed structure has been widely used at home and abroad in recent years. However, due to its numerous nodes and complex shapes, prestressed cable-stayed structure has a large amount of calculation, and the theoretical research is lagging behind compared to the practical application. Therefore, it is particularly necessary to conduct the static and dynamic mechanical analysis in the aspect of prestressed cable-stayed structure.This paper firstly introduced research achievements of the prestressed cable-stayed mesh structure at home and abroad, and through a method of the combination of theoretical analysis and analytical expression, deeply analyzed the force and deformation characteristics of prestressed cable-stayed structure. Consulting the ’Technical specification for space frame structures’ and the ’Code for design of steel structures’, the shell, the tower and stay cables were designed. Using the large general-purpose finite element analysis software MIDAS/Gen, in the case of prestress of cables being zero, stress and strain were calculated, and the vertical displacement of the overall structure was checked. The position of the force maximum was identified to research, and it provided reference for the preliminary design of the structure. At the same time, static and dynamic performance without cable-stayed prestress state was analyzed, including the linear buckling analysis, vibration characteristics and the dynamic response under the earthquake, to ensure that the structure is not capsize in each load case. Then two analytical methods for complex structures which was time history analysis method and modal response spectrum method were used to ensure adequate structural seismic analysis. Finally, static equilibrium method which was simple and easy for engineers to grasp was adapted to determine the prestress of cables, and mechanical characteristics under prestress and without prestress were compared. It was found that the influence of prestress to vibration characteristics was small. This paper can provide a reference design to the design of similar pre-stressed cable-stayed structure.
