At present, the steel frame structure has been widely used with many advantages,for example stressing clearly. In this paper,based on the engineering ideas of "strong-connection and weak-member", a new connection is designed and its related aspects are studied.This new connection is referenced the characteristics of the connection of steel tube columns with H type steel beam and short T connection, or the angle steel connection. It is designed by using the principle of equal strength. In this paper,the connection is mainly researched on the application in low-rise residential reconstruction.Therefore, some reductions to the result of designing by using the equal strength principle of high-rise steel connection are done.Its bolt spacing in the internal force and vertical direction of internal force meets the maximum and minimum allowable range.In this paper,the connection is done the numerical analysis by using ABAQUS finite element analysis software, including the monotonic loading and low cycle loading analyses. According to the load - displacement curve of monotonic loading, bending moment - rotation curve and the hysteresis curve of reciprocating load connection, the mechanical properties of the connection are studied from its aspects of bearing capacity, ductility, energy dissipation and so on. The results show that the bearing capacity of the new connection standard parts meets the requirements, hysteresis curve is full of the spindle, ductility coefficient is greater than 4.0, and the energy dissipation is good.On the basis of the new standard connection,the parametric analyses are done, they are that how the strength level of the beam and column, the thickness of beam wing flange connection plate, the thickness of column flange connection board, the thickness of the beam wing edge, the thickness of the beam web plate, the thickness of column flange and the column web affect the performance of the connection.The results show that the strength level of the beam and column, the thickness variation of the beam wing and beam margin have greater effects on the mechanical properties to the connection, the thickness variation of the node fittings of column flange connecting plate and the thickness of column flange and column web have less effects on the mechanical property to the connection. Otherwise, "L" connection is carried on the brief analysis in this paper. The result shows that the design of the connection in the other direction also meets the requirements. It will give some reference for the development of new connections and its related researches in the future.
