Traditional Inheritance And Reconstruction Of Rural Settlements In Space

Traditional rural settlement is the root of human civilization, the tradition of farming civilization. However, the process of urbanization make villages decline. How to continue and reproduce tradition, how to show the unique of the traditional settlement and seek development during the innovation become a subject that the current scholars are exploring and pursuing to.Therefore, this paper makes 172 traditional settlements of Lishui in Zhejiang Province as the research object. First on the basis of field research and collected existing literature data, try to summarize the characteristics of the natural environment, historical tradition and cultural connotation of the characteristics of the Chuzhou.Secondly, considering the landform, the traditional settlement will be divided into three types such as mountainous terrain type, plains and riverside. Then try to analyze the traditional settlement space from settlement level and building level. Finally summarize the general features and characteristics of Lishui rural settlements.Although the traditional settlement has a unique beauty, it becomes more and more difficult to meet the demands of modern life for the villagers. Rural decline lead to the decline of traditional skills and cultural identity for the villagers become weak. The country needs to be protected, the country also needs to develop. Through the three cases try to discuss how to balance conservation and development.Finally, come up with principles and strategies during heritage and reconstruction. It emphasizes harmony with nature, retaining the traditional space texture and attention clan culture. At the same time, reflect the grand unified small rich style pattern, the mode+adjust the way will encourage villagers self-construction, and ultimately with the Xu’an village design as an actual planning case and verify the further principles and strategies. Hope this paper can provide some experience for future rural construction.
