Total Transfer Capability (TTC) is an important indicator to characterize system security.it’s in an important technique value to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the system. At present how to meet the power system operation constraints, accurate definition of regional power system power exchange capacity, and to meet the requirements of the regional electricity power system, has been an important topic of electric power system to be solved urgently. The main current calculation method of TTC includes the algorithms of continuous power tide (CPF), optimal power flow (OPF) and DC sensitivity method. The calculation speed of CPF and OPF method is too slow to meet the online application; And sensitivity method to calculate TTC has the disadvantages of decoupling the active and reactive power transmission, the power transmission by the way of no loss and without considering the node voltage constraints, So that the calculation results are accurate enough. On the premise of guarantee same calculation speed with DC sensitivity method,to make the TTC calculation results more accurate, This paper presents a new TTC calculation method, which is based on the increment of Power Transmission. Power transmission method converts the power grid into multiple single power network on the power tracing algorithm, then establishes steady power transmission relations including the initial state and load increased state; And according to the power transmission coefficient, the increment of power transmission can be calculated; Finally the TTC can be got though the limited power flow.Through the example of IEEE14 bus system, This article compares the TTC calculation results of the power transmission method, DC sensitivity and RPF method, verifies that the power transmission method has more accurate calculation results under the similar computing scale to DC sensitivity method.
