The Distributed Energy Management System (DEMS) deployed in multiple control-centers can solve the contradiction between interconnected-grid and hierarchical-management. With the improvement of distributed algorithm for power applications and management mechanism of DEMS, DEMS will eventually turn to be a massive computing platform which distributed in space and paralleled in time and applications. It can meet the needs of future large power grid.Based on the contribution of researches on distributed algorithms and DEMS’s management mechanism, this paper designed and developed an integrated platform of distributed parallel computing system. To meet the security requirements of network communication in power applications, a distributed framework for this platform has also been explored. Briefly, this paper discussed the future DEMS’s structure and technology, proactively designed a small EMS platform based on these discussion. There are five innovation points. Firstly, this platform has adopted the parent-child processes working mode, parent process for management and child process for computing. Thus mode increased the reliability of platform. All these processes communicated in a three dimension coordinate (time-space-application). Secondly, computing processes were designed as hot-plugging which could dynamically configure in the platform. It simplified platform maintenance. Thirdly, the introduction of new technology on SVG electrical diagram improved the graphical display effect and made it easier for users. Fourthly, the real-time database built in multiple dimensions, it decoupled the user data. Lastly, this paper developed a distributed framework for power applications to improve the security and simplify application development. In conclusion, this paper explored future DEMS’s structure and designed an integrated platform to meet the concurrent computing of multi-system, multi-user and multi-applications.
