It is necessary to further study hydraulic characteristics, starting characteristics, pump stopping characteristics on tubular pumping station, in order to ensure the tubular pump sets can be operation safely, reliably and stably during the hydraulic transient process. The fast gate is the commonly used equipment to cut off current, and it is an important link in the operation of pumping station at the same time. In view of this, it’s very important to research starting and pump stopping transient process characteristics on the bidirectional submerged tubular pumping station. This paper has simulated various schemes of the bidirectional submerged tubular pump system combines with fast gate starting and stopping pump by the Simulink soft, and these simulation results have important theoretical guiding significance for the design and optimization of tubular pumping station.The main completed works are as follows:(1)The starting and stopping transient process of the pumping station have been analyzed by studying the structure and characteristics of the bidirectional submerged tubular pump sets.(2) The basic structure, starting characteristics and the way of direct starting of the three-phase asynchronous motor have been analyzed. Based on this, the mathematical model of the motor electromagnetic torque in d-q-n coordinate has been established.(3) Based on the dynamic characteristics of the bidirectional submerged tubular pump sets, the torque equilibrium equations of starting and stopping transient process have been established.(4)The hydraulic performance tests of the bidirectional submerged tubular pump set have been completed. The model tests data can be used to fit the pump set characteristic curves in Graph software. Based on the fitting expressions, the hydraulic characteristics mathematical model has been established.(5) Based on the mathematical models of electrical, dynamic and hydraulic systems of the bidirectional submerged tubular pump sets, the simulation models of the hydraulic transient process have been established in the Matlab/Simulink platform.(6) According to the simulation of the bidirectional submerged tubular pumping station, the starting transient process characteristics of the different fast gate lifting speed under the zero device head, the maximum device head and the minimum device head have been analyzed, and the pump stopping transient process characteristics under the zero device head have been analyzed. The results show that the simulation model is correct and feasible. And it’s beneficial to the stability and safety of pump system to proper increase the lifting speed of fast gate or delay the gate opening time.(7) Analyzed and compared the simulation results of different schemes with the prototype tests data, and it has summarized the suitable for practical engineering optimal solution. These results can be used as reference for safe, reliable and stable operation of the pumping station in the practical engineering.
