The eccentric structure have translational motion and torsion response under earthquake action, which can enhancing the damage of structure. With the development of technology of energy dissipation damper, the viscoelastic damper provides a new approache to withstand seismic for eccentric structures. This paper mainly studies the method of quick calculation of viscoelastic dampers in the eccentric structure of L structure which based on sequential search method. The automatic program of optimized layout scheme is completed, and the results of which are compared with the results of manual calculation. This paper includes:(1) Based on sequential search method, this paper optimizes the layout strategy of viscous dampers by two objective functions -- interlayer displacement angle and weighted combination of interlayer displacement angle and displacement ratio.(2) Based on different control function, Seismic response analysis of the eccentric structure with viscous dampers under the action of multi-encountered, basic and rare earthquake is carried out by using 1m×1m shaker table and a four-layer L type organic glass test model with the ration of 1/15. It is concluded that the arrangement scheme, which regards the combination of layer displacement ratio and the layer displacement angle as objective function, is optimal.(3) This paper accomplishes calculation procedure,and realizes automatic calculation of the optimal control strategy. It compares the calculated results with the results of artificial calculation, which verifies the effectiveness and efficiency of the program.
