River Landscape Quality Analysis And Evalution Of Ancient Suzhou City

Ancient Suzhou city is the first kind of city which had been thoughtfully planed in the history of China. It is covered by many rivers. It is famous for the reputation of “ the Oriental water-city” and “the heaven in human” all around the world. For Ancient Suzhou city, water means the soul and the blood. And it is also the most representative characteristics of Ancient Suzhou city. The river landscape is an important carrier for showing the overall feature of Ancient Suzhou city. At the same time, as the ecological corridor of Ancient Suzhou city, the river landscape plays an irreplaceable role in the maintenaing biodiversity, improving urban microclimate, and inheriting the culture.But with the development of economy and city construction,the rivers in Ancient Suzhou city is declining. Becouse of the decline, the overall quality of the river landscape has been affected to some extent so that will limit its ecological, cultural, and other functions. Therefore, it is very necessary and urgent to establish practical and suitable methods to analyzing and evaluating landscape quality of the rivers in Ancient Suzhou city. Using the methods, the advantages and the disadvantages of the river landscape will be easy known. And this can provide a reference for later river landscape construction.Under the guidance of Aesthetic principles, visual law of static space and the theory of river corridor,this paper analyzed and combed the methods of river landscape quality evaluation both at home and abroad. According to the features of river landscape in Ancient Suzhou City, this paper identified two types of qualitative and quantitative analysis and evaluation method.Using qualitative method that belongs to the aesthetic patterns of Expert Paradigm to analysises and evaluates the visual beauty of river landscape.Using quantitative method to analyzes and evaluates ecological, social and cultural functions of river landscape. Based on the Index of Stream Condition(ISC) of Australia, the quantitative evaluation index system is refactored. At the same time, this paper clarified the quantitative standards of evaluation index, index of data acquisition, the determination of index weight and the determination of the evaluation results. In addition, this paper used the quantitative evaluation index system to evaluate a contrast river and the results showed that the index system has application value. Finally by Ganjiang River as an example, the Ganjiang river landscape has carried on the qualitative and quantitative analysis and evaluation. According to the results, this paper put forwarded targeted optimization suggestions respectively.
