In recent years, the development of distributed wind and water power has been widely used, and there are many applications of distributed wind power and small hydropower in the south. However, the distributed power supply is lack of remote monitoring, which brings the hidden trouble for the electric power system. Two Way Automatic Communication System(TWACS) technology can be used to communicate with the power system, which is based on its long transmission distance, low cost and easy installation.Based on the analysis of the basic characteristics of distributed wind power and grid operation, the paper presents the application of TWACS technology as a way to monitor and control the distributed power supply. The paper presents the method of distributed power monitoring system, and proposes a scheme for improving TWACS uplink communication capacity. According to the distributed power supply system, the paper designs a distributed power monitoring system. Management center needs to design a background management center. The next development combining with the system design of distributed wind and water power control monitoring system prototype, the design idea of each component of the distributed power monitoring terminal and substation concentrator, combined with on-site installation, commissioning of the research for distributed wind and water power monitoring. At the end of this paper, the research on the management method of distributed power source is discussed. The method of distributed power supply, the method of grid management, and the preliminary idea of constructing the information fusion system are discussed.The application of this technology used in distributed wind and water power supply will make a great contribution to the security and stability of power system and the information construction of distributed power supply.
