Water is the source of life and the lifeblood of the cities and towns. In the process of urbanization, cities have occ upied a large number of lakes, rivers and ocean-land, destroyed the original ecology of the water system pattern, broke the balance of the water ecological system, increased the risk of the towns affected by flooding. However, people are drawing more attention to the pursuit of quality of life. It is significant to carry out the study of sustainable water system planning.The paper takes Baguazhou Street, Qixia District, Nanjing as example, and makes comparisons of the waterlogging control scheme of water system planning.(1) The paper classifies the main rivers, and determines the main river for the gengeral layout of "one-horizontal-two-verticals" combined with the practical situation of water system in Baguazhou Street, Qixia District, Nanjing.(2) Based on the terrain of "higher in the north" and "higher in the west" of Baguazhou, it proposes three partitioning schemes. It compares the advantages and disadvantages of the three schemes from the perspectives of flow rate, the amount of buildings and investment amount. According to the compared results, the scheme of deviding Baguazhou into three horizontal partitions is determined.(3) On the basis of optimal scheme in the previous paper, it optimizes layout plans. The paper mainly studies on the central area because the drainage pump stations in other areas have already met the drainage demand. It generalizes river section. According to the results of river section generalization, river section to be checked under the central area different conditions pumping station layout using numerical model of river network unsteady flow and determines the drainage pumping station layout in the central area.(4) It proposes river ecological restoration methods and concrete water environment measures. The paper devides the town into two parts and put forward specific water environment scheduling schemes in each part. For lowland areas, it proposes concrete water environment governance schemes. Finally, it delineates river blue line, which provides the basis for the construction of ecological river and water resources protection.By a series of studies, the paper aims to improve the water environment, balance between human and nature, increase productivity, raise the standard of farmers of living, improve ecological environment, safeguard sustainable development of economy and society in Baguazhou.
