Remanufacture as an advanced manufacturing technology can realize the harmonious development of economy and environment, which is gradually becoming the research hotspot of industry. At present, the assembly method and standard of remanufacturing production frequently refer to the original production. Meanwhile, the cladding layer of remanufactured parts would have shape change under multiple loads, like temperature load and force load. Therefore, the assembly quality will be affected by the shape change, and there are lack of effective quality control methods and technological parameter optimization methods to eliminate the effects. Aiming at these problems, this paper takes the remanufactured engines’ cylinder block and head as the research target, takes the air tightness as the criterion for assembly quality, and puts forward the control method for the assembly quality of remanufactured engines’ cylinder block and head.Firstly, under making contrastive analysis of remanufacturing assembly and manufacturing assembly, this paper introduces the difficulties for the quality control of remanufacturing assembly process, and studies the existing problems for the assembly of remanufactured engines’ cylinder block and head. Above all, the research strategy and approach are proposed.Secondly, to study the shape change of cladding layer of remanufactured engines’ cylinder block and head, the forecasting model for the shape change based on the optimized artificial neural network is built, where the artificial neural network is optimized by simulated annealing algorithm. The shape change forecasted through this model serves as an influencing parameter for the air tightness control model of remanufactured engines’ cylinder block and head.Thirdly, the shape change of cladding layer of surface between the adjacent remanufactured cylinder holes will affect the air tightness of remanufactured engines’ cylinder block and head. To estimate these effects, this paper puts forward an air tightness control model for the remanufactured engines’ cylinder block and head based on multielement non-linesr regression. Moreover, the tightening torque value of main connecting bolts of remanufactured engines’ cylinder block and head is modified as the assembly parameter to ensure the air tightness.Finally, the assembly data of remanufactured six-cylinder diesel engines is used to verify above-mentioned models accurately. Compared with traditional control method of remanufactured assembly workshop, the implementation effect certifies the control method of this paper is feasible and effective.
