Concrete Face Rockfill Dam (CFRD) uses the rockfill as of supporting structure, the upper surface of CFRD is concrete panel setting as impervious structure of rockfill dam. Due to its high security, strong adaptability, short construction period and low costs, the CFRD is widely used in engineering. In order to analyze stress and strain characteristics of panel reasonably, the feature of connecting seam of CFRD should be reflected in the calculation. By using the secondary development platform of finite element software ABAQUS, this paper has developed the unit without thickness and realized the simulation of connecting seam. Specific work summarized as follows:1. Analyze and summarize the research status of slab joints of CFRD,pointed out that using the same as the contact surface of slab joints of CFRD to simulate the thickness unit is succeed, make clear the aim of this article.2.Based on finite element software ABAQUS secondary development platform, set up the development of unit 2, and 3 d no thickness method, write the corresponding user-defined units of education-the subroutine, implements in the ABAQUS simulation of slab joints, which can make full use of the advantages of ABAQUS before and after the processing is convenient, high calculation accuracy and strong ability of simulating complex problems.3.Numerical examples validate the development of joint element and compared with theoretical solutions for validation. Results show that the development of the unit can reflect the joint pressure and shear deformation characteristics, can be enough to simulate any direction of seam, can simulate the nonlinear relationship between the joint force and displacement.4.The developed element is used in the three dimensional finite element analysis of Jurong pumped-storage power station concrete face rockfill dam. The characteristics of stress deformation of concrete face slab joints and three deformation characteristics are studied in detail. Provides the basis for engineering design.
