Synchronizer has an important influence on shift performance of the vehicle. Through the analysis of working process of synchronizer, the shifting process is divided into five stages, and then the position and movement form of each part of synchronizer is introduced in the beginning, locking, synchronization, off position and the bonding process of synchronizer.The work process of synchronizer is expressed by simple picture.More new types of materials is introduced through the comparison of the various materials of the synchronizer. Improving the material of the synchronizer can greatly enhance the performance of the synchronizer and make the shift process more rapid and stable.According to the working principle of synchronizer, The effects of the parameters of synchronizer on synchronization performance are analyzed.The virtual prototype model of the working process of synchronizer is built with SolidWorks and ADMAS, and the whole shift process is simulated. The influence of friction coefficient between cone of friction and the input of the equivalent moment of inertiaon the performance of synchronizer is discussed. The effect rule of shifting parameters with the two impact of shift is obtained through simulation and analysis.Using the optimization tool in MATLAB software, The objective function and the constraint condition are analyzed, and the optimal solution is obtained. According to the optimized parameters, the model of the virtual prototype is reestablished, the simulation analysis is carried out,and the result of optimization is obvious. The feasibility and accuracy of the MATLAB optimization method are verified by comparing the synchronization time before and after optimization.Finite element analysis of synchronous ring is carried out by using ANSYS Workbench software and The stress distribution and the strain distribution of the synchronous ring can be obtained, which can satisfy the requirements of the work. Because the friction effect between the two cone in the process of shifting, temperature of two metal surfaces will change. By using the conventional test methods, it is difficult to obtain the surface temperature of friction pair. The contact temperature of friction surface can be obtained by thermal analysis. This paper can provide a reference for improving vehicle shift performance and development of new products of synchronizer.
