Based on hydrodynamic lubrication theory, taking engine fuel pump journal bearing as research object, this paper studies the design and optimization of high speed and low viscosity lubricant journal bearing. The main work of the paper is as follows.(1) Based on laminar and turbulent lubrication theory, using mass conservation boundary condition, lubrication theory model is established under the condition of laminar and turbulent flow conditions and confirms the basic process of fuel pump bearing performance calculation.(2) Lubrication performance analysis of high speed and low viscosity lubricant journal bearing is carried out in relation to the lubricant viscosity and pressure. Under the two lubrication conditions, using the finite difference method and the relaxation iteration method, high speed and low viscosity lubricant journal bearing performance parameters with the viscosity change and without the viscosity change are calculated, and the calculation results are analyzed and compared.(3) Based on the theory of optimization design, determine the optimal design process of design variables, objective function and constraint conditions. Establish fuel pump journal bearing optimization design mathematical model, select optimization design method and data processing method, and determine optimization process.(4) Based on the genetic algorithm, the optimal design of fuel pump journal bearing is carried out with the oil film bearing capacity, friction power consumption, lubricant flow and minimum oil film thickness. Study the influence of parameters of genetic algorithm and use examples to verify.(5) Based on Matlab software platform, the system software of the design and optimization of fuel pump journal bearing is worked out. The software includes fuel pump journal bearing database, the performance calculation of fuel pump journal bearing and the optimization design. Fuel pump journal bearing database can realize the establishment of bearing performance data file, modify and display. Bearing performance calculation software can input bearing structure parameters, use numerical solution method of bearing performance parameters, display and save the data. Bearing optimization design software by reading bearing data has been established in bearing database, using genetic algorithms, optimizes the goal such as the oil film bearing force, lubricant flow, the minimum oil film thickness and the friction power loss, display and save optimization design results. In the process of optimization design, the speed and result accuracy of the optimized design can be changed by changing the parameters of algorithm.(6) Using the Matlab/GUI software designs intelligent artificial interface for Fuel pump journal bearing system, and user registration and management interface for user-friendly management and using.
