Because of the mutual movement of two mass, double tuned mass damper(DTMD) can overcome some disadvantages of single tuned vibration absorber, and its effectiveness and robustness is also increase. But the study of DTMD and its optimization strategy is rarely seen. Based on relevant research achievements of dynamic vibration absorber, this paper has presented a double tuned liquid column damper(DTLCD). And the control mechanism, robustness, the influence of the parameters on the performance of double tuned vibration absorber, which is conclude double tuned mass damper and double tuned liquid damper, is studied. The researches and achievements include the following aspects:(1) Study on double tuned liquid damper and the optimization strategy of double tuned vibration absorber single degree of freedom(SDOF) systemBased on DTMD and TLD, a double tuned liquid damper, which include double tuned liquid column damper, double tuned liquid rectangle damper and so on, has been presented. The applicability of fixed point theory in double tuned vibration absorber single degree of freedom system is studied, a program which is written by MATLAB to optimize parameters is also presented.(2) Effectiveness and robustness of double tuned vibration absorberThe motion equation of DTMD-SDOF system and DTLCD-SDOF system for suppressing harmonically forced oscillations was established. The dynamic magnification factor(DMF) equation of the DTMD-SDOF system and DTLCD-SDOF system was derived. Effect of each parameter on dynamic magnification factor was specifically discussed as well as the robustness of DTMD and DTLCD when the damping ratio and frequency was changed.(3) Comparing of the effectiveness of double tuned vibration absorber and single tuned vibration absorberThe effectiveness and robustness of DTMD and DTLCD was compared with TMD, TLCD and MTMD. Finally, the effectiveness of DTMD for earthquake wave was compared with TMD and MTMD, their control effect of displacement and acceleration was also analyzed.
