As an important part of the effective realization form and the smart grid construction, the micro grid is becoming a hot research topic. However, the distributed power supply has a negative effect on the power quality of the micro grid, especially when it is running in independent operation. Therefore, how to increase the power quality of the micro grid is the key to improve the operating characteristics and the development of micro grid technology. It can be solved by using the energy storage device to power quality problem of voltage sag, voltage drop and so on which can be stable and smooth, smooth the grid voltage and frequency fluctuation.In this paper, the author uses the demonstration project of CAS(Chinese Academy of Sciences) as a research target. Based on the distributed power and battery model, MATLAB/SIMULINK simulation software is used to build a model of the island micro grid system. The positive effect of battery energy system on the quality of the micro grid is analyzed, and the correctness of the conclusion is verified by the demonstration project.Specific research contents are as follows:First of all, the paper analyzes the access and control mode of battery energy storage system, and puts forward the way of using parallel access network, and determines the P/V control strategy.Secondly, the research on battery capacity requirements proposed a design method of battery capacity, can meet the micro grid energy shortfall and system power shortfall of demand. Meanwhile, this paper makes a modeling and Simulation of the battery energy storage system based on different types of batteries, different battery capacity and different series and parallel mode, and compares the fast response power of battery storage system under different battery configurations.Next, the author carries on the simulation to the non energy storage system in order to make comparison. The influence of the wind speed and light resources fluctuation and the power quality of the micro grid is also studied. In order to study the influence of battery energy storage system, and to verify the improvement of the power quality of the battery, the author further analyzed the simulation of the micro grid system with the random variation of wind resources, the starting and stopping of the photovoltaic system and the large inductive load. The research conclusion shows that the battery energy storage system can be used to improve the power quality problems such as frequency fluctuation, voltage fluctuation, three-phase voltage unbalance, and bus voltage total harmonic distortion rate and so on.Finally, for the above research results, the paper provides a theoretical basis for the successful construction of the island micro grid demonstration power station, and the actual measurement data of power quality of power station, also verified the conclusions of this paper.
