The tripod sliding universal joints is a new generation of constant velocity universal joint, it has many excellent characteristics, which is mainly used for automobile transmission system, the lack of the tripod sliding universal joints in friction and lubrication aspects lead to the failure of serious wear in automotive design, it does not meet the mileage before delaying its application in the automotive industry and other fields, the main purpose of this paper is according to the theory of fluid lubrication, improvement of lubrication type tripod sliding universal coupling under different working conditions, inhibit the surface with the table friction, wear, improve the lubrication performance, prolong its working life, promote the popularization and application in automobile industry and other fields, the coupling research produced the desired social benefits. The main contents of this paper are as follows:1. Introduce the research background of this topic, structure characteristics and the application fields of the tripod sliding universal joints, the application of this coupling is currently facing problems, according to the coupling and research status of friction characteristics. It is pointed out that the content and significance of this study.2. The hydrodynamic lubrication theory is applied to the friction and lubrication of tripod sliding universal joints, focuses on the hydrodynamic pressure lubrication theory, the coupling lubrication analysis of basic assumptions, and according to these basic assumptions are the lubrication equation. On the basis of previous improved the tripod sliding universal joints, simplify the geometric model, in the geometric model, we deduce some basic lubrication equation, at last, the paper introduces the calculation methods of these equations.3. Using fluid dynamic pressure lubrication theory established on considering the roughness of the hydrodynamic lubrication model and the model for numerical analysis, with emphasis on the effect of roughness on the film thickness and pressure, rough degree of wavelength of film thickness and pressure effect, surface roughness amplitude of pressure and film thickness effect.4. Applicating hydrodynamic lubrication model of tripod sliding universal joints. it is assumed that the temperature of lubricating oil and solid surface is equal everywhere, the lubricating oil is assumed as the Ree-Eyring fluid, research on lubrication properties of the tripod sliding universal coupling under the isothermal non-Newtonian fluid. analysis of the influence of various factors on the lubricating property of the tripod sliding universal coupling.5. Research on friction and lubrication properties of the tripod sliding universal joints under the isothermal non-Newtonian fluid and established the basic equation considering thermal effect under the condition of non-Newtonian fluid. According to the type of equation, selecting multigrid method for solving equations, programming calculation program for numerical analysis, To investigate the effective of radius, amplitude, frequency, the viscosity temperature coefficient on film thickness and pressure.
