Diesel locomotive is widely used in metro industry, mainly for the rescue of electric bus, the transportation of circuit construction goods, and the construction of main operating lines,it is the indispensable equipment that in the metro industry. The application and management of diesel locomotive is different from rail、steel and petrochemical industry, as a whole, its overhaul and service time will be extended appropriately. In order to ensure the persistent and maintainability for the early purchasing diesel locomotive, it is necessary to upgrade the electrical control system.PLC designed for industrial environment, its function, convenience, stability and universality, make it widely used in the diesel locomotive. This paper take the electrical control system of early purchasing diesel locomotive for research object, analyzes the internal combustion engine, the basic structure and the control principle, and the working principle of PLC, make sure that the improvement program of diesel locomotive electric control system is change the Card type SCM to PLC electrical control system.In the aspect of hardware design, first determine and define the I/O PLC points, the completion of the PLC and the main hardware model selection, and complete the verification of the hardware. PLC electrical control system as a benchmark, the new hardware and the old hardware, between the new hardware and new hardware wiring design, complete the hardware design.In the aspect of programming, the function of internal combustion engine is divided, and the ladder diagram of the main function of the locomotive is completed. In this paper, the design principle of fault diagnosis of diesel locomotive is also emphasized. In the same time, the original function of the locomotive is guaranteed, and the safety operation of the locomotive is further promoted. For dual reconnection design, through two sets of PLC parallel link set, realize the sharing of the output between the two locomotives, reached two internal combustion engine reconnection operation.The man-machine interface design, through the configuration editing software to complete the interface of the drawing, and display the fault information in the display screen.Upgrading of the diesel locomotive PLC, whose research object is the Guangzhou Metro early procurement of products is a attempt in solving practical problems at the same time, for the subway by the upgrading of the traditional relay circuit of diesel locomotive, accumulate experience, and to provide a standard process and theoretical basis.
