Study On The Characteristic Design Of London Metro Station And It’s Implications On Construction In Xi’an Metro Station

Because of urbanization, the metro has become the symbol of the modern and international city. The construction of the rapid transit hub complex as space nodes of the underground network is closely connected with passenger’s daily life and travel. Accompanying with other facilities, Metro complex can provide a lot of functions that people need, such as commercial areas, community center, leisure and meeting spaces. This paper will analyze the characteristics and value of London, and aim to provide evidence and data for Xi’an metro station space, and explore a evolutional design method for these metro station space.Nowadays, many cities are faced with a very serious social problem that is the existing traffic facilities can’t bear the traffic volume under growing pressure. The only method is to develop urban comprehensive transportation system to improve the ability and efficiency of urban traffic operation. In the composition of urban comprehensive transport system, rapid transport system is dominant with the advantages of large capacity and rapid transport.However, urban rapid transit hub, as a lock of urban comprehensive transportation network, often can be the core of urban development. Meanwhile, how to construct comprehensive and large urban rapid transit hub station also causes more and more discussion. Today, with the acceleration of urbanization, there are a lot of defects of rapid transit hub built in many cities in transfer cohesion of various transportation and internal function configuration, which hinder the realization of the integrated function of urban comprehensive transportation system and hinder the urban rapid transit to give full play to its benefits in various aspects.The purpose of this study is to research the system characteristics of rapid transit transfer hub, the organization of its transport functional space and the design theory of optimization configuration of other internal functional space, and to summarize related successful cases to provide experiences and help for the design and planning of this kind of urban transport hub site.Firstly, this research analyze the multi-function and transfer characteristics of urban rapid transit hub under the influence of urban comprehensive transportation system, Then summarize some experience and lessons in design of urban rapid transit hub complex, and summarize the concrete practice of function layout, space streamline organization, interior design and barrier-free design in complex, in order to support the theory and practice of the design of urban rapid transit hub complex.
