The protection of “Non-material cultural heritage” that is “intangible cultural heritage” should be considered in many aspects comprehensively, so as to achieve comprehensive protection of non-material cultural heritage in real sense. The carrier of non-material cultural heritage plays an important part in its protection and development process, the disappearing or variation of any one carrier both likely cause damage or even death to the non-material cultural heritage. Therefore, the issue of dual-protection of non-material cultural heritage and its carrier is worthy of intensive research and exploration.This paper takes traditional village Shiyanping Village in Zhangjiajie Hu’nan as object of study, analyzes and researches the relationship between its representative non-material cultural heritage “HUCANG” and its carrier “village landscape” and protection.The paper takes the traditional national culture and natural environmental background of Shiyanping Village as research basis, combining with record of document literature, field research, on-site mapping, and researches the history of development of non-material cultural heritage of Shiyanping Village in terms of historical environment, cultural environment, religious culture and architectural culture of Shiyanping Village; takes Tujia custom “HUCANG” as representative of non-material cultural heritage, further research the relationship between non-material cultural heritage and traditional village landscape by combining village layout, streetspace, traditional architecture and other material culture heritage, and put forward approach and suggestion for integrated preservation on the basis of analysis of existing status of both. It is expected to provide basis and gist to the protection and inheritance of non-material cultural heritage in Shiyanping Village in the future, to offer suggestion to the development of village layout and landscape structure etc., and provide feasible reference opinions to the integrated preservation and development in traditional villages that are rich in non-material cultural heritage.
