With the development of economic society and the improvement of people’s living standard, there are more and more requirements for the diversity of building types and functions in the construction project. A large number of irregular structures have emerged, including vertical irregular structure and irregular plane structure, and the large number of irregular structures brings forward the higher request for structural engineering analysis and design. In recent years, the performance-based seismic design theory is more and more popular in practical engineering, the traditional performance evaluation index is story drift to control structure of lateral displacement. However, the research on the performance evaluation of the torsional effect of irregular plane structure is very little Centering round theory and methods of performance based seismic design for irregular plane structure, this dissertation involves the following work.In this paper, we first study the torsion control indexes of the Asymmetric-plan Structure, and then propose a method to improve the seismic performance of the plane irregular structure with the parameters of the generalized torsion angle. Limitations for original torsion angle capacity spectrum method under strong earthquakes, we use displacement ratio spectrum of elastoplastic structures to correct results of seismic elastic time history analysis, and give the considering p-delta effect of inelastic displacement ratios spectra calculation model, and then use the model modified original torsion angle capacity spectrum method. Finally, considering the torsion effects caused by the earthquake load?a method of vulnerability assessment based on the story drift and torsion angle is proposed. And compare with Vulnerability analysis based on single parameterThrough the analysis of this paper, it is clear that the torsion angle can be used in the design and evaluation of irregular plane structure. Torsional effect of irregular structure can be reflected by torsional angle. In this paper, the improved method of torsion angle capacity spectrum method is proposed, which makes the structure of the capacity curve more consistent with the actual. The dual parameter vulnerability assessment method is better than the single parameter vulnerability analysis, which can better respond to the seismic behavior of irregular structures.
