With the rapid growth of car ownership, environmental pollution and energy shortage problems have become increasingly prominent, the sustainable development of the automotive industry has been severely constrained. Therefore, reducing vehicle dependence on fossil fuels and pollution become the main research direction of the automotive industry. That electric vehicles as a kind of energy efficient and environmental friendly vehicles, few pollution and high efficiency, has become a research point of governments and automobile industry.Auto safety has always been the concentration of the industry. While frequent electric vehicle fire accidents make the reliability of the electric car suspected, not only caused a large fire safety issues, but also seriously restricted the promotion of electric vehicles. Therefore, this article through the electric car research analysis and the mechanism of fire, Analyzed the cause of the electric car fire, put forward safety suggestions base on these reasons. This article mainly aims at the study of electric cars fire p revention and control technology, carried out the following work: first, combined with electric car fire accident occurred on the main factor causing the electric car on fire: power battery, controller, motor drive system, power converter, high- voltage lines, electric circuit analysis, find out the mechanism of the fire; Secondly, using the analytic hierarchy process and expert empowerment electric cars easily released to evaluate fire risk area and dangerous working conditions, according to the consulting research to get the scores of electric cars and dangerous parts condition analysis, summed up the most dangerous place or condition; Finally, in view of the most dangerous factors of electric cars, fire prevention and fire safety countermeasures aspects research, and put forward the relevant improving methods and suggestions.According to the analysis, find out the mechanism and cause of electric vehicles parts that resulting in fire accidents. Lithium battery, the most possible cause of the electric vehicle fire accidents, under some extreme working conditions of the experiment, record power lithium battery in the overcharge, large current discharge, charging voltage, short circuit for the extreme experiments under the condition of the change of the voltage, battery temperature and current, and power battery is analyzed in extreme conditions when using a serious fire hazard exists. Experiments show that the risk of power battery under the condition of not appropriate, evaluation results also proved that the power battery, the possibility of fire is bigger, high- voltage lines to find the key to electric cars fire prevention, play a role to the development of electric vehicles fire accidents and safe design.
