Research On The Aesthetic Evaluation Of Highway Landscape

In the early waves of highway construction, people paid much attention to its technical and financial problems. While as people opened their eyes for beauty and brought up the demands for aesthetics of highway landscape, highway gradually developed into a landscape system with culture and aesthetics values. From the view of assessment, the paper is going to study the assessment system of highway landscape aesthetics.Firstly, the paper dissertates the conception of aesthetics and analyses the characteristics of highway landscape aesthetics, including its development and evolution. According to the dialectical relation between form and function of highway landscape, two breakthrough points are found:Form and Function.Secondly, a study is set to build an assessment system for form aesthetics of highway landscape. As is shown below.1) The influence of aesthetic subjects’individual factors on the highway landscape aesthetic preference is analyzed. Using the research plan which is based on the landscape behavioristic, a results of quantitative evaluation of landscape visual resources has been reached.2) The paper builds an evaluation index system based upon the theory of form aesthetics. A number of evaluation factors which had a higher aesthetic value are picked up through the correlation analysis between the evaluation index and visual landscape resources evaluation results, thus proving the applicability of research methods and the evaluation index system.3) The flexibility and nonlinear approachable ability of BP neural network model is used to build a relationship between the evaluation index system and the visual landscape resources evaluation results. The results show that BP neural network model can well suit the form aesthetics of highway landscape.In the end, chapter 6 studies the evaluation system of highway landscape from the perspective of functional aesthetics. An evaluation index system is built, which includes safety, ecological environment and socioeconomic performance. In addition, the evaluation standard and index assignment method is also determined. The weights of index was estimated according to a fuzzy comprehensive assessment model based on the AHP method. Lastly, through the analysis of some highways which have been marked by the evaluation system, the paper proposes some problems in the landscape design of the highways.
