With the development of society and economics, the power system gradually realize intelligent and digitized. In the field of power line fault location, compared with traditional fault location methods, such as impedance method, failure analysis method, traveling wave method has higher stability, higher precision and lower influence by line itself. Therefore, it is widely used and has good prospects for development. Traveling wave method needs to select a suitable sensor to detect traveling wave, thus, studying and designing a wider bandwidth, faster response, higher accuracy traveling-wave sensor is the key to traveling wave fault detection. This paper focuses on studying and designing PCB Rogowski coils traveling-wave sensor to meet the needs of traveling wave fault location.In this paper, the theory of traveling wave production, characteristics and sensing needs are summarized under the wave fault location technology background and study and design a PCB Rogowski coils traveling-wave sensor based on this theory. Firstly, the Rogowski coil measuring principle and two integral works are described, and the shortcomings of the traditional Rogowski coil and the advantages of PCB Rogowski coil are anysised. Secondly, desining the structure of PCB Rogowski coils traveling-wave sensor based on the theory of PCB Rogowski coils. Selecting anti-sided symmetrical structure and two adjacent plates around the opposite even plates in series, this can reduce the interference effect and increase mutual inductance. Thirdly, establishing transfer function of PCB Rogowski coil through equivalent circuit, and using Matlab to draw Bode figure and anyasis the influnece of the sensor electromagnetic parameters(mutual inductance sensor, inductance, capacitance, resistance distribution) on sensor frequency characteristics. Then according amplitude-frequency function formulas and the relationship between the electromagnetic parameters structure parameters(diameter, diameter, turns numbers, height, diameter) to design a multi-parameter nonlinear optimization algorithm. The algorithm is used to optimize the sensor structure parameters that meet he traveling wave signal frequency range and output voltage up to the maximum. Finally, according the structure and optimized structure parameters to design PCB Rogowski coils traveling-wave sensor, and doing experiments to verify the feasibility of this study.In conclusion, this paper studyed on PCB Rogowski coils traveling-wave sensor Based on and applied the sensor to traveling wave fault location field. Improved and optimized the sensor structure and parameters and verified the Effectiveness of the reserch. The results present the feasibility of the sensor and provide technical support for traveling-wave sensor design.
