Shield tunneling machine is widely applied in water conservancy and hydropower, subway tunnels and other projects. The cutter tool is the main component of the shield machine its layout directly affects the machine performance, construction costs and construction efficiency. The reasonable arrangement of cutter is to ensure the basis of stable efficient of shield machine, so the cutter layout should be in accordance with the actual project. Due to the complex geological conditions in our country, domestic researchers in shield machine cutter layout have done a lot of research for the domestic special geological conditions with different layout algorithm optimization programs. In this paper, combined with a shield machine cutter head, using numerical simulation methods with optimization algorithm to research the cutter layout, and combining with a type of cutter to verify the reasonableness of the scheme.This paper describes the categories of cutter head and cutter. As a major tool of shield machine to cut rock, analysis the mechanism of rock fragment of cutter. According to the existing rock breaking mechanism, determine the cutter arrangement model of CSM. Analysis cutter arrangement rule, edge cutter layout method and determine the impact parameter of cutter to influence the cutter layout.Use an example, research the selection process of optimization. In this paper, design and optimize the cutter using the three algorithms, and comparative results for all three algorithms to verify that the multiple-objective genetic algorithm is superiority than the other two algorithms, and it is reasonable to optimize cutter layout.The multi-objective genetic algorithm is applied to design and optimize the cutter layout. Use multi-objective genetic algorithm to solve the mathematical model of the cutter, which is established according to mechanism of rock breaking and CSM model, contain of design variables, objective function and constraints. Analysis of the results of Pareto sets, choose the optimal solution based on the principle of cutter arrangement,geological conditions and excavation plan.Use ANSYS to compare of force and deformation of the before and after optimization cutter model, to further validate that the cutter arrangement of multi-objective genetic algorithm is rationality and feasibility.
