Automatic Voltage Control system is one of the two major power grid automation systems, which can improve the quality of the power grid voltage, reduce the loss, increase the stability of reserve and reduce the labor intensity of the staff. At present, AVC is generally divided into three levels, called tertiary voltage control. In this paper, the tertiary voltage control method is studied, and the primary control method is improved.In the tertiary control, this paper firstly introduces the single objective and multi-objective model of reactive power optimization in the whole network, and the solving efficiency of primal dual interior point method and co-evolutionary algorithm is analyzed. The analysis shows that the advantage of co-evolutionary algorithm is to reduce the memory pressure caused by the control variable, and avoid the "premature" phenomenon of the general genetic algorithm. The advantage of primal dual interior point method is that it is faster and more suitable for use in practical systems.In the secondary voltage control, traditional area voltage control method cannot take into account the coordination between different controllers. This leads to a defect that larger control cost cannot get a good control effect. This paper adopts the optimal coordinated voltage control method. Firstly, the reactive power and voltage control partitioning of the large power network is carried out, and then on the basis of the full consideration of the coordination problem between different controllers, the voltage deviation and the control of the load nodes are the minimum control objectives to establish the voltage control model.In the primary voltage control, taking the current substation voltage control system in the city as the research object, this paper analyzes the traditional nine area diagram thoroughly, and improved it to the 17 area diagram to carry out more accurate control. When the voltage of a substation exceeds the limit value, the optimal regulation strategy of the related substation is carried out. So the substations can make cooperation with each other.
