I I am a graduate student specializing in designing of bag straps. By using methods of literature search, interdisciplinary study, marketing investigations and comprehensive analysis, I have gained practical understanding in the field of designing three series of bag straps. This thesis aims to introduce the concepts of my designs by rethinking of current mainstream fashion product design trend.In the field of costume accessory design, the bag strap is an indispensable ornament. Although the bag straps design has aroused more attention gradually, to some extent, there are still some limitations to make creative patterns and the major researches regarding costume fashion design are mainly focus on the key designing elements. At the same time, the effect of visual language on the design of bag straps, which is a hidden language that conveys a philosophy of designers, has rarely been mentioned. By understanding visual language as the interface between a design and a user, this study can learn to inform with accuracy and power of particular bag strap design.Clothing accessories industry has a long history along with the development of human culture and custom. The world famous luxury brands Louis Vuitton and Hermes start their brand journey by making customized leather bags or shoes. With the development of business, these luxury brands gradually add the garments into their product categories. Currently, the research of the clothing industry has draw more and more attention, that is, the prediction of digital fashion trends, 3D garment display and other cutting edge methods have been widely accepted in the research of the clothing industry. In terms of clothing accessories, the research and forecast for the trend of fashion is still limited to the collection of some profiles, as well as some basic profile representations. Meanwhile, the research regarding fashion accessories styling and how to use this styling in the design of the product are still in the initial stage.Historical analysis is the first-hand information for the new trend. In order to providing accurate foresee the trend of this industry and applying more efficient methodology, a designer’s research should cover the each stages of development of clothing accessories,The main object for this research is to study the change of fashion accessories in twentieth Century. The first part introduces the research background of the thesis. The second part is an overview of the popular trends and the historical data collection, collation and analysis. The third part is using methods of comparative analysis and case studies based on historical data for several aspects on trends, such as the products styles, colors, pattern and fabric. Through analysis and description, this thesis will present the most outstanding representative for popular trend cases. The methodology of this research will deeply analyze several particular popular elements in different products in order to reveal the embodiment of advantages and disadvantages of comparison, popularity and so on, and then illustrate the effectiveness of using these discoveries in clothing accessories. The fourth part analysis focuses on outstanding cases and the use of aesthetic point of view. The analysis will be approached form the design focus, aesthetic form and aesthetic principles, such as the golden ratio, various color proportion privy, forms of rhythm rhythmic. Combined with the first-hand information of the marketing data analysis, marketing reaction and the popular trend of good market cases, this thesis will illustrate the objectiveness of the conclusion of fourth chapter. The fifth part is based on the above chapters. Through the study of literature research, interdisciplinary research, market research and comprehensive analysis, this thesis applies the analysis into design practice. There are discussions and analysis in the second series of bag design in the fifth part. At last, this paper summarizes the research conclusions: putting forward the theoretical and practical significance of this paper, analyzing the shortcomings of the research and presenting prospects for the study..
