Filter is an important accessory of the hydraulic system. With the improvement of the precision of hydraulic system, higher requirements for the cleanliness of the hydraulic system have been put forward. So the user needs to examine the filter to evaluate its filtrating performance so as to select products meeting the demands. In the mining production, a large number of emulsion filters have been applied to the hydraulic support and the high pressure filter station, except the commonly-used oil filter. At present, the detection equipment,methods and standards of the oil filter have evolved. However, the emulsion filter has lacked effective testing equipment, methods and standards. So it is difficult to test the filter precision of the emulsion filter definitively. Generally,more experience had been referred to identify the filter performance in the procurement of emulsion filter, which tended to cause unreasonable selecting and using. Therefore, the traditional method of empirical choice is no longer able to meet the needs of enterprises in production.This paper is based on the existing testing technology of filter performance,It is the first time to introduce the multi-pass test method into the testing of theemulsion filter, and developed a multi-pass test system to detect the filtration performance of emulsion filter. Firstly, this paper discussed hardware components of the testing system from the overall structure design and component selection. Then, it created controlling system of the multi-pass testing, and illustrated how to realize the automatic control of the test platform from PLC hardware selecting, software programming and human-computer interaction system designing. At the same time, the mathematical model was established to analyze the key technologies—the controlling of oil temperature and the stability of the particle concentration of oil pollutants — in the testing system. Finally, the emulsion filter was tested through the testing equipment and the test results of the filtration accuracy and the pollutant capacity were analyzed.The multi-pass test system can test the filter accuracy and pollutant capacity of emulsion filter in an effective way, and this will lead users to have a deeper understanding of filter performance and help them to choose the most suitable products in the procurement.
