Research On Penetration Of Large-caliber Shaped Charge Jet Into Concrete Target

Shaped charge is widely applied in areas such as conventional ammunition, new highly destructive ammunition, and smart ammunition. Considering the actual projects’ requirements, the thesis focuses on the formation of large-diameter shaped charge jet and its penetration into concrete target, and analyzes the jet’s performance and the influencing factors on its penetration performance. The specific work is given as follows:(1) The thesis studies the two-dimensional multi-material Eulerian numerical method, and tests and improves the program with shaped charge jet’s penetration concrete target. It proposes and programs specific solutions to the compressing and stretching damage and destruction of concrete, and realizes them in a program.(2) According to the characteristics of shaped charge jet’s formation and penetration, the thesis analyzes and summarizes the steady and quasi-steady fluid dynamics theories in the formation of shaped charge jet. It also studies the equation and algorithm of the depth and diameter of jet perforations in the target.(3) The thesis studies the influence on shaped penetrator performance parameters of large-diameter liners with different types(cones and segments), different conic angles and different wall thicknesses in order to provide foundations for choosing a better shaped charge structure that can penetrate concrete targets.(4) The thesis analyzes the influence on shaped jet’s penetration into concrete targets of standoff distance, and the diameter of the target through numerical simulation, providing bases for experimental research. The simulation results prove to be reliable after compared with the experiment results.
