Research Of Handheld Mobile Device’s Interaction Design Based On Embodied Cognition

With the rapid development of communication technology and mobile technology, the society has changed a lot. As an information carrier, hand-hold mobile terminals has brought rapid changes to people’s work, study, life and daily communication because of its mobility,portability and other characteristics. With the continuous enrichment of functions and the rapid expansion of user groups, there has been many problems on the interaction between users and hand-hold mobile terminals. Most of the reasons for this is the interaction design has alienated the user’s body.As a medium of action’s execution, a carrier of feelings and a root of cognitive model, human’s body connects and sustains the relationship between human and the physical world. Paying more attention to the human body’s position and function on the interaction design of hand-hold mobile terminals can increase humanistic value for the interaction design of hand-hold mobile terminals.As a new trend in cognitive psychology, embodied cognition insists the theory of harmony of body and mind, it considers that brain, body and the cognition is a entirety that linked together.Cognitive activity is not only related to the brain but also the body, and it also emphasizes the key and basic function of the body in cognitive activities. According to the related theory of embodied cognition, this research makes a detailed analysis on the relationship between hand-hold mobile terminals and human’s body, and puts forward some principled advice for the interaction design of the product on the basis of the analysis. The main body of this research is divided into three sections: raise a question, solve the problem and put forward the problem-solving method. Section one first reveals the alienation between hand-hold mobile terminals and human’s body by three parts of hardware design, operation behavior and vision expression, and then makes a humanized introspection through naturalness, multiple senses and conciseness of interaction design to point out that human’s body and hand-hold mobile terminals are closely related. The part of question analysis states the three levels of perceptual level,executive level and cognitive level of human’s body and hand-hold mobile terminals based on the research of embodied cognition, at the same time, this part discusses the content of interaction between users and hand-hold mobile terminals by each level. The final section startsfrom actual cases, and do some summaries in pivotal principles of hand-hold mobile terminals interaction that from perception level, behavioral level and cognitive level which aims at hardware interface and software interface. These principles which based on embodied cognition provide a new angle of view for hardware and software interaction design of hand-hold mobile terminals, also,it can help to work out some products which are more easily used and wanted by human beings through more attention on body’s position and function of users. It can make a better satisfy of use’s physiological, mental, and emotional appeal through all of the research.
