With the continuous development and progress of society, the past history of developing the workforce and neglecting children’s education for the sake of survival has become a thing of the past.In the knowledge-based economy, various educational reforms and developments have fully reflected that children’s education has always been the focus of attention. In today’s context, the traditional children’s library space can no longer meet the diverse needs of children, and the learning mode that used to confine children to desks is gradually replaced by a child-oriented embodied learning mode. Therefore, how to apply embodied cognitive theory in the design of public children’s library space has become an important research issue.Through the analysis of embodied cognition theory and children’s cognitive development theory, the paper draws out the design principles, strategies and methods applicable to the public children’s library space by combining the behavior and needs of children in the library space, and validates the theories with a specific design practice, hoping to provide reference for future public children’s library space design.
