Cavity-wall masonry technology is unique to China, a traditional housing construction technology, due to its saving building materials, excellent thermal performance characteristics is widely used, the southern region of China existing a large number of Cavity-wall masonry of traditional dwellings and new buildings. However the masonry unit poor bond, the stability of the part of a wall and the whole wall is poor, structural safety defects are also obvious, make the cavity-wall masonry house in under earthquake, the foundation uneven settlement, typhoon disaster effect easily occurred damage or even loss of stability collapse. Therefore, we urgently need to the cavity-wall masonry bearing housing reinforcement and reconstruction work. But the existing cavity-wall masonry reinforcement method in the construction process is more complex, the cost is high, and will seriously undermine the facade of the building style, the promotion of resistance. In order to solve the above problems by using the ECC material, the main research contents and results are as follows:(1) through the analysis of historical seismic damage data and extensive field research, research and analysis of the current situation of the structural safety of the cavity-wall masonry load-bearing housing.(2) to compare the static test of the specimen-wall(cavity-wall) with and without ECC surface Layer, and to understand the seismic performance of the ECC surface layer.(3) the reference research data, design full size cavity-wall masonry bearing housing of the shaking table test specimen, and the use of ECC materials for protection of style and features of structure reinforcement design and construction, explore summary cavity-wall masonry bearing housing architectural style protection structure reinforcement design method and field application of the technical points.(4) Launched full-scale reinforced cavity-wall masonry bearing housing specimen for seismic simulation shaking table test, observed and analyzed the acceleration model, displacement response and the dynamic characteristic of specimen, test in each intensity level under the condition of the seismic damage performance. To make comprehensive evaluation of ECC materials in the protection of architectural style and improving the seismic performance of the bearing cavity-wall masonry building specimen.
