With sustainable development of our country’s economy, the electric power system is expanding and upgrading constantly and the electric power network is growing. With the development of new energy technology, wind power generation, photovoltaic generation,nuclear power generation and other new energy are connecting to the grid and distributed power supply is also increasing. These make the short circuit current level of the power grid increasing greatly. When the power grid fault occurs, the short circuit current will cause damage to the primary device and the secondary device. The emergence and the development of fault current limiter(FCL) present the effective solution to solve the problem of the short circuit current limiting.In this thesis, firstly, it described the status of research on fault current limiter briefly. Then the basic principle of zero flux fault current limiter was introduced and analyzed. It also established the mathematical model of zero flux fault current limiter. The vector control method was used to control the inverter. Compared with hysteresis current control method, the vector control method has the advantages of making the output error smaller in the inverter control.Based on the mathematical model of zero flux fault current limiter, it designed the controller of the inverter and got the control instruction by using the theory of passive control theory. The output current obtained better tracking results in the aspects of current tracking. The simulation model of zero flux fault current limiter was established based on the passivity control method and simulated the experiment.Finally, it established the hardware circuit experiment platform by using the DSP control chip TMS320F28335 as the control core and completed the closed-loop control system. The result verified the effect of limiting the short current of zero flux fault current limiter and the good dynamic response performance of the inverter controlled by the passive control theory.
