In recent years in our country under the market economy system, the competition between enterprises in the machinery industry is more and more intense, especially the heavy machinery industry, whether it is state-owned enterprises or private companies are facing tremendous pressure of competition. In the fierce competition in the market, the cost of the product is undoubtedly one of the key factors. To reduce the cost of the product can improve enterprise competitiveness in the market. This paper studied the design method of the existing cost oriented on the TRIZ, the innovation theory, the method of modular design and lightweight design theory, analyzes the factors that reduce costs of the three theories,and put forward a set of entire stage for product design at the effective design method of reducing cost.(1) Describes the present situation of the existing cost oriented design method, and analyzed its shortcomings; and put forward a set of design process cost reduction in product design phase;(2) On mechanical product module partition using the module partition method for cost, considering the market factors and factors of production, manufacturing, and the mechanical structure of a certain type of bridge crane is divided into some modules,preparing for the subsequent operation;(3) Based on the module division for cost on mechanical product functional analysis,function model of mechanical system. This paper analyses the function of bridge crane, the establishment of the overall function of the mechanical structure of bridge crane model, as the implementation of basic cutting method.(4) Based on function analysis of mechanical system using the cutting method,utilization of resources analysis and cutting factor optimized the function of mechanical system in order to reduce the cost of products. In this paper, application of cutting method of crane, puts forward some improved design scheme.(5) Using of lightweight design theory of TRIZ on the mechanical system to further reduce the cost based design, in order to reduce the cost of the request, this papersummarizes the principles and standards in the invention of lightweight design solutions applicable in TRIZ.This paper is based on the enterprise cooperation project "Application of innovative methods, reduce the research target cost method" products as the basis, provides a set of design method of reducing cost for the designer, and verify the enterprises of a certain type of bridge crane, and achieved certain economic benefits.
