Research On Urban Greenway Landscape Design

China is in a period of rapid economic development with the whole country developing the fundamental construction. The impact of urban development on the natural environment is harder than before with the new requirements to urban public space. For the ecological and landscape area, the urban green space is a whole system. How can the various types of green space connect to a ecological networks and better to the city landscape? It is the biggest problem that green space system planning need to focus on. Greenway network concerned about the social significance of various types of urban green space and improve and strengthen the urban landscape features. It is the effective tools and means for designers when the urban ecological resources are scarce, deterioration of the natural environment, the historical context of fracture and other problems. Greenways and its related theories is important to nature conservation, ecological restoration, urban open space, cultural heritage protection and other areas. Greenway is an important part to maintain the ecological stability and an integral part of the structure of the urban landscape planning.The city greenway system, especially under high-density urban development context of China’s rapid urbanization improving the living environment and the ecological environment, so that the green leisure space becoming easy to reach and enjoy. At first to repair the urban ecological environment and related concepts and urban greenway planning related to the basic theory and elaborate analysis, sorting and induction literature and summarize the existing research results. Then, do analysis on the urban greenways functions, types and elements of completed case, also include such as proposed urban greenways reference landscape design principles and design flow and key points. Finally, choose the greenways in Nanjing city as an example to explain the purpose of design and its development strategy. This case can be a model for China’s high-density urban greenway system’s reference.Urban greenway planning should be based on ecological principles and focusing on recreation, cultural, social and economic functions at the same time. The greenway system can be applying to the cultural heritage protection. It shows the overall efficiency of urban greenways. People are clarify the city greenway for an important role to build our network of ecological protection and especially for the high-density city.
