As the electric system of power station and grid is becoming more and more complex, it seems that a topology system with higher performance is needed. Now, in a large power plant, there are more than 2000 points need to be supervised in a single DCS unit. On the grid side, a typical NCS system includes more than 5 thousand points and ECS is higher than 10000 level. With the more complex the electric system is, it seems the traditional topology method, multiplication-matrix and BFS methods are very hard to adapt to so many points. At the same time, the hardware is keep going ahead significantly. As a result, the RAM problem is not quit vital. The efficiency and robustness are becoming the most important standard with the faster server and its DPU.This research has talked about the design and implementation of the topology analysis subsystem of electric control system particularly and carfully. At the beginning of this research, user requirement has been discussed. By custom analyzing, it has been divided into two parts: functional requirement and unfunctional requirement. Depending on different functions, the whole system should be divided to three parts: topology calculation, process guarding and the configration mapping and display of electric grid. The unfunctional requirement mostly points to the efficiency and robustness of the topology part.Next, the design and implementation about the main three parts of topology system has been discussed in detail. In addition, at the topology calculation part, this research has proposed a new topology method which has a higher performance on instantaneity and has analysed this theory deeply based on other topology method published now. Then the research has showed how to build its software structure and how to implement it.At the end of this research, the whole system has been tested according to functional testing and unfunctional testing. Several kinds of testing has been used while doing functional testing part, including unit testing, integration testing, system testing, acceptance testing. Further more, the efficiency of topology calculation has been tested.
