Switched reluctance motor drive system is a new type of stepless speed regulation system combines the traditional advantages of AC and DC speed control system. However, due to motor with salient structure, resulting in non-linear motors magnetic saturation factor, eddy current, hysteresis effect, so that the motor is running to produce large torque ripple, limiting its development and application. Therefore, it has very important practical significance for the research of switched reluctance motor torque ripple optimization.In this paper, direct torque control method to reduce torque ripple, first analyzes the basic theory of switched reluctance motor direct torque control, to clarify the criteria for the establishment of the voltage space vector, on this basis, the establishment of a switched reluctance motor directly Matlab / Simulink simulation model of torque control. Simulation results show that direct torque can effectively suppress torque ripple, but the presence of the starting process of the stator current peak is too large problem. Current chopping control can limit the stator current but large torque ripple, for making improvements to the current chopping control accordingly, the current chopping with a combination of direct torque control,and established the simulation model, the results indicate that the motor during starting and steady-state process has a good performance.On the basis of simulation, the design of the hardware platform system of switched reluctance motor control, including power module, power converter, main controller, position detection and current detection etc, and introduced the working principle and circuit of each module. The software design was completed based on foreground/background system, the control algorithm procedures and the foreground interrupt subroutine was introduced.According to the system’s hardware and software design, test experiment for each modules.Motor starting and running performance is good, provides the basis for subsequent experiments.
